Basanta Kumar Jena is a highly accomplished expert in Coastal and Oceanography observations, with a Ph.D. in Physical Oceanography from Berhampur University (1998). He has authored 11 book chapters, published 30+ papers, and presented his research in 40+ conferences. With a specialization in wave, tide, and current patterns in the North Indian Ocean, he has conducted Bathymetry Surveys for India's EEZ and played a crucial role in Ports and Harbour Developmental Projects. Basant's expertise in Sediment Transport and Modeling, as well as Coastal Zone Management, has led to notable contributions in Environmental Impact Assessments and policymaking. His remarkable achievements earned him the Certificate of Merit Award in 2012 from the Ministry of Earth Science.
